This is one of the older MerryBody classes. For higher quality sound and video select a newer class. This yoga inspired MerryBody class is all about grounding yourself and awakening your Muladhara Chakra (root Chakra). This Chakra is the first Chakra (there are 7!), located at the base of your spine and its energy is based on the Earth element. This is where the feelings of safety and grounding begin and it lays the foundation for the expansion of your life! While practising this flow, really try to visualise yourself connecting to the centre of Mother Earth, feel how your body meets the ground and how you’re always supported. MUDRA: we start our practice with the Ganesha mudra (energy seal), also known as the remover of obstacles. What’s a mudra you ask? It’s a way we place the hands, or the body, that seals and redirects the prana (lifeforce/energy) within the body. MANTRA: we chant Lam to awaken our practice, say it like LUUUUUUU-MMMM. This vibration is directly linked to the root Chakra. What’s a mantra you ask? It’s something we chant that creates vibrations within the body. The word mantra in Sanskrit (yoga language) translates to ‘sacred message or text’. They are usually repetitive sounds that can reach deep into the unconscious mind and change/clear aspects of your being and energy.
